Service Description
Social Skills Groups Receptive language: How a child understands language. Expressive language: The ability to express thoughts through words, sentences and gestures. Play skills: The ability to plan and sequence play activities (including new activities), problem solve challenges and generalise skills from one activity/toy to another. Pre-language skills: Pre-language skills are the ways in which we communicate without using words and include things such as gestures, facial expressions, imitation, joint attention and eye-contact. These are the skills that set children up to be ready to talk and communicate. Self regulation: A child's ability to understand and manage their own behaviour and reactions. Executive functioning: A child's set of mental skills that include working memory, flexible thinking, and self-control. We use these skills every day to learn, work, and manage daily life.
